Chicken Shareen with Advieh

Recipe by Chef Abraham Risho


This delicious, Quick & Easy recipe is on the back of the can of spice, but uses chicken instead of the picture showing duck! Use whatever protein you like!

INGREDIENTS

  • 1lb chicken

  • 1Tbl Persian Advieh

  • 2 Tbl Salt

  • 1Tbl garlic, minced

  • 1Tbl ginger, minced

  • 2Tbl honey

  • 2Tbl butter,

  • 1C onion, diced

  • 1/2C pistachio, crushed

  • 1C dried apricot

  • 1 orange, juiced

  • zest from one orange

  • orange segments, membrane removed

  1. Marinate chicken in Advieh, salt, garlic, ginger & honey for at least a 1/2 hour, preferably in the refrigerator.

  2. Brown the chicken in butter

  3. Add onions, cook until translucent

  4. Add pistachios & apricot, cook for 5 minutes

  5. Add orange juice and zest, simmer 30 minutes.

  6. Remove from heat, garnish with parsley and orange segments atop Persian Rice.
